Wherever gas streams get in contact with
liquid, droplet or aerosols are carried away with the stream as entrainment

During chemical reactions and in absorption or distillation columns droplets can get into the gas phase as well.

To efficiently remove these droplets, either to clean the gas or to recover the liquid, different technologies may be used.
